Feed A Smile Fund Raiser. The Live Entertainers and Progress!

Getting closer and closer to our goal of 1,200,000 L$!

It is exciting seeing that counter go up and up and up!  Think of all the good those funds are going to do in the real world.  There is still time for you to add to that total and possibly win an opportunity for time with a SL Celebrity or even a real life item from Kenya!  Of course, you also just have the opportunity to make a simple donation to a very great cause.

Sunday we will have a full 12 hour event with Live Performers and select people being auctioned up on the stage at the Mad City Park.  These Live performers are donating their time to raise funds to Feed A Smile in Africa.  We are so thankful for sharing their time and talents.  Here are the talented people you will be seeing (in no particular order):

Catboy Qunhua is a film maker and producer in Second Life.  He’s been on SL for 7 years, and has had several creative careers.  He’s been a builder and has run a store for four years selling cameras and accessories.  For the past six months Catboy has been performing as a standup comedian at Lauren’s Live.

Being born in the South gave Chandra her country roots, but traveling with dance bands gave her that funky soul.  Her music will either bring back a memory or hopefully help create a new one, by singing songs from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and current - from Pop to R&B, Rock to Country and Romantic Ballads to Dance.  Chandra is a seasoned entertainer, who sings regularly in the Windy City of Chicago.  She has been performing in front of audiences since the age of three and shows no signs of slowing down.  The only real way to describe her style is to say it is "Music....straight from the heart."  Come spend an intimate encounter with Chandra Deed, kick back and be transported through time with some of the all time greatest hits.

DennyMac has been playing electric lead, slide and rhythm guitar for many years in RL rock bands. In Second Life he has used his talent and experience to add dual stream guitar for many top artists including Voodoo Shilton, Mulder Watts, Terry Lynn Melody, LindoMoo, Lyndon Heart, Twostep Spiritweaver, Shannon O'Herlihy and Kat Rose Serendipity to name a few. He has also returned to his first love, acoustic fingerstyle guitar.  His amazing skill, crystal clear guitar tone and smooth, soulful voice will leave you wanting more.  Heavily influenced by Bob Dylan, Peter Paul and Mary, Kingston Trio, James Taylor, the Beatles and of course Paul Simon, Larry Carleton, Richie Havens and many others, he plays your favorite covers as well as moving originals.  Come have a listen, you'll leave smiling.

Some say Grace McDunnough may have been the unlikely digital love child of Andy Warhol without the soup can and Janis Joplin without the drugs - a hypnotic mix of subtle yet defiant acoustic imagery blended with evocative vocal highlights that permeate the veils of geography, culture and genre.  Grace is the creator and producer of Musimmersion, founder of the Mill Pond Folk Festival, and a virtual world touring singer-songwriter streaming from Atlanta GA.  She has performed on stages large and small across the Second Life grid since 2006; she was the first live musician to perform in Metaplace, and is a member of the ground breaking live music tour called Rocking The Metaverse presented by Koinup - bringing live music into several virtual worlds including Second Life, Reaction Grid, Metaplace, Twinity and Active Worlds - Europe

Jean's music takes you from Jazz and up through the ages with a voice that is bar none, one of the finest. Her way of bringing the emotion of the music alive through her interpretation makes you ask for more. The way she brings  you into her world in hope that you will feel the music the way she does,  is what she strives for. She wants you to become one with her through her music. To know, that music is healing, it brings up old emotions, it makes you laugh, it makes you dance, tap your toes, hum along or just simply sway as it washes over you. Lose yourself in the music with Jean.

A professional musician in RL for many years, Marky's live acoustic, electric and piano sets are a spirited blend of Classic Rock & Pop, Ballads, Country, Blues and original material. Marky (Doug Lind in RL) hails from Ayrshire, on the west coast of Scotland, and has been playing live music for over 25 years. He honed his craft in various bands on the Scottish pub & club scene before moving south to London for a few years. He then moved to Copenhagen, Denmark where, in partnership with an American friend and songwriter, he began writing his own material. Now back living in Scotland, he has emerged with renewed energy and, in addition to a busy RL schedule, is now also bringing his acoustic set to live venues in Second Life

From her heart and mind, lyrics and melodies flow that evoke the most warmly remembered sensibilities of modern American folk. Her songs are finely crafted but have a raw quality that is delivered with intelligence and captivating emotion “

“The Sweetest Thing” Juice Newton

With a stellar presence, her voice sultry and smooth, Starrfish Ohmai is pure sweetness with a touch of fun.  A singer and budding songwriter with several live performances a week, her fan base continues to swell as her cheerful, dreamy, musical landscape serves as a nice break from the monotony of the real world. Her musical influences are the Eagles, Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert. She plays songs by the Eagles, Beatles, Kings of Leon, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Modern English, Three Doors Down, Tears for Fears, Uncle Kracker, Greenday, Johnny Cash, Mazzy Star, Jewel and Anna Nalick.

From Blues to Bluegrass, Beatles to Bach, Grateful Dead to Van Morrison and all the music inbetween, Twostep Spiritweaver weaves his way through all of it.  He may play 30 minutes of pure blues followed by 30 minutes of sweet ballads and love songs, or he might just start playing to see where the music takes him.

"NeoMaximus Brandenburg's style is rock centered with influences from the Dave Matthews Band to Simon and Garfunkel, from Rage against the Machine to Carmen." I sing and play to backtracks.  Also Acoustic shows.
